Smyrna Defeats Caesar Rodney for the First Time in 42 Years

CAMDEN, DE — It was senior night for the Caesar Rodney Riders but it was spoiled by the Smyrna Eagles who, for the first time in 42 years (estimated) they defeated the Riders 36-33.

First quarter, it was the Eagles who would be on the board first after Will Knight makes it to the endzone with a 19-yd touchdown run. Smyrna went for two and on the board 8-0.

Riders Mike Clavier respond with a 17-yd touchdown run but their two point attempt would be no good.

In the second quarter, things really started to heat up between these teams. The Riders were down by two when Fito Louis goes in for the 2-yd touchdown run. Riders lead Smyrna 12-8.

Knight would answer again for the Eagles, this time a 6-yd run. Momentum seemed to be in favor of Smyrna as they ended up taking this one 36-33.
