Sussex Tech Football Season Ends with Tough Loss to Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, DE – The Sussex Tech Ravens were flying high heading into the DIAA State Semi-Finals versus Middletown after a huge win against Salesianum in the prior week. But the Cavaliers had the Ravens in a no-fly zone as they defeated them 37-7 on Friday night.

Middletown would be on the board first after Frankie Datillo scored from two-yards out with over four minutes left in the first quarter.

The Cavaliers defense would force the Ravens to turn over on downs. The Cavaliers would have good field position and they would strike again. This time, it was Lasanna Brew who scored a nine-yard touchdown run and they would lead 14-0.

It wasn't until the fourth quarter when the Ravens added some points on the board. Senior running back Kani Kane, stopped all night by a physical Middletown defense, finally broke through for a 84-yard touchdown. But by then, it was too late.

Middletown now advances to the state title game for the fifth straight year.
