Wolverines Strangle Hobart In Second Half, Advance to Final Four
Dover, DE- The fourth-ranked Wesley Wolverines scored 21 unanswered points to end the game and end #7 Hobart's season, on a rainy Saturday afternoon in Scott D. Miller Stadium.
Hobart would cut Wesley's lead to 20-13 with 5:42 remaining in the 3rd. Joe Callahan and the Wolverines offense would work a 4-play, 75 yard drive, hitting Steve Koudossou for a 60 yard touchdown. That huge play would change the game.
From there Wesley would cruise, Jamar Baynard would find his second three yard touchdown of the day, and Kyle George would catch a 19-yard touchdown with 3:01 left to play. Defensive backs Leroy Cheatham and Joe Brown intercepted Hobart quarterback Patrick Conlan and safety Sean Hopkins returned fumble 42 yards for the Wolverines.
The Wolverines improve to 12-1 on the season and advance to their sixth NCAA Semifinal next Saturday, where they will take on third-ranked Mount Union at 12 p.m. The loss was the Statesmen first of the season and they finish the year at 12-1.
