Worcester Co. man arrested on assault charges

A Newark man has been arrested, after he reportedly assaulted members of his family.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office says on December 16th, Deputies responded to a home in Newark, where the found that 22-year-old Ali Sufyan had assaulted his wife and young daughter.

Sufyan was then arrested, and charged with child abuse 2nd degree, two counts of assault 2nd degree, and two counts of reckless endangerment. He was ordered to be held with no bond until he had the representation of a lawyer.
