Dec. 26 – The Joseph House

The Joseph House and the Little Sisters of Jesus and Mary were started in Baltimore by Sr. Mary Elizabeth Gintling (1914-2004) and were relocated to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1977.
The Joseph House has been helping the poor since 1965. It is a volunteer-based organization that depends on private donations.
On their web site, you can learn about their various ministries, which include cash and food assistance for those with emergency needs (Joseph House Crisis Center) and job-readiness training for homeless men (Joseph House Workshop). There is information on how to join us in helping the less fortunate by volunteering or making a donation.
