C.H. Flowers defeats Sussex Tech in a heartbreaker
Sussex Tech and C.H. Flowers met up Monday for day three of the Governor’s Challenge and C.H. Flowers came up with the buzzer beater bucket for the win 56-55.
The game was fairly even throughout with Tech taking the lead a couple of times throughout the second half. The score at halftime was Sussex Tech 26 to C.H. Flowers 24. C.H. Flowers shot for 11-25 in the first half and 23-51 overall. Tyrik Campbell was the leading scorer for C.H. Flowers, but it was Elliott Brown who sealed the win with the bucket down low.
Sussex Tech had the win in their hands, but a few mistakes led to turnovers and ultimately allowed C.H. Flowers to take the win. Shi’wan Sykes led his team with 23 points and was one board away from a double-double with 9 rebounds.
Sussex Tech had control of the ball after taking a time out, but C.H. Flowers played solid defense on the in-bounds pass and earned possession of the ball with just over 20 seconds. C.H. Flowers took the ball up the court and swung the ball around till finding Elliott Brown who knocked it down for the win as the buzzer went off.
