Newton Community Center seeing foot traffic, hoping to continue to grow in Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.- Since opening this summer, the Newton Community Center is seeing some foot traffic.
The center is a place to bring people together through programs and activities. The City Community Relations Manager says a lot of partners have wanted to join with the center and bring what they have to offer from their organization to community members. Monday they started an after school program, and next up they’re starting a workout group and creative writing workshop.
“We just want to keep growing, and we want to invite more people through the doors, we just want this to feel like a place that belongs to the community, you know that if they need something they can come here,” Rachel Manning, Community Relations Manager, for Salisbury, said.
Manning told us a lot of local kids are taking advantage of the after school program. They just started their after school program for Pinehurst Elementary School students and say they have more space for kids.
