Delmar Football Moves To 2-0 In South With Win Over Lake

The Delmar football team picked up their second conference win Saturday afternoon after they defeated Lake Forest 21-7. The win improves the Wildcats to 3-2, while the loss drops the Spartans to 0-5.
The Wildcats would jump out to a quick lead in the first after getting a 39 yard touchdown run from Brooks Parker. The offense continued to move the ball in the second quarter as they would cap off a drive with a touchdown pass from Jimmy Adkins to Te’Shawn Dennard. The Spartans would look to try and get an answer before half but lose a fumble deep in their own territory. That would lead to another touchdown strike from Adkins as he found Isaac Austin from 32 yards out with under 20 seconds to go in the half. The teams would exchange fumbles as the field conditions worsened in the 3rd quarter. The Wildcats would be able to run most the clock out through the 4th quarter before the Spartans would get the ball back with just over a minute remaining. Xavier Daniels would air a pass deep down the left sideline and find Cam Lewis for a 81 yard touchdown strike. Time would run out though as Delmar would get the win.
Delmar returns to work on Saturday when they travel to Archmere, while Lake Forest travels to Laurel on Friday.
