WBOC Twitter feed and website targeted by hackers

It was a disruptive day for our fellow broadcasters over at WBOC.

Officials with the news station tell us, around 11:30 AM Tuesday morning, their website and twitter feed were hacked by a group calling themselves Cyber Caliphate, posting pro-Islamic State propaganda.

WBOC tells 47 ABC the hack on their website has been resolved, but they cannot get back into their twitter feed.

They say they have reached out to Salisbury Police and the FBI made contact with them, alerting them that they were one of two news agencies in the nation to be hacked by this group. The other one was the Albuquerque Journal, located in New Mexico.

WBOC says they obviously do not share the thoughts and opinions expressed by these hackers.
