Winter Circle

As the clouds being to clear out tonight, you will be able to see the beautiful almost full moon along with bright major winters stars all around. The moon is in the center of the stars. If you look in the Southern direction, you will be able to identify the Winter Circle. One of the major stars in the circle is Rigel from Orion’s Belt. Procyon and Sirius are stars that form the Winter Triangle and too are apart of the Winter Circle. The star Betelgeuse is not part of the circle but is a part of the triangle.

The Winter Circle is not a defined constellation. It is known as an Asterism which is composed of separate stars from different constellations. If you look outside the circle, you will be able to identify the planet Jupiter!

Stay Warm!
