Selby’s Career Day Powers Mardela Past Parkside

The Mardela girls basketball team picked up another conference win Thursday afternoon when they traveled to Parkside and came away with a 77-59 win behind Demyra Selby’s 42 points. The win improves the Warriors to 14-1, while the loss drops the Rams to 12-4.

Selby wouldn’t waste much time before going to work, scoring 10 points in the first and second quarter. The Warriors would quickly find themselves up double digits, but the Rams would use the long ball to try and fight their way back into it. Tykeria Jackson would connect on 5 threes in the game on her way to a team high 20 points. But the Warriors weren’t going to let them back into this one. Taylor Ross would find the shooting touch as well, adding 19 points herself. Selby though, would continue to be the story as she carved through Parkside’s defense on her way to a career day in the win.

Mardela returns to action Tuesday when they travel to James M. Bennett, while the Rams return to the court Tuesday when they host WiHi.
