Kitchen blaze causes thousands in damages in Somerset

Maryland State Fire Marshal say a cooking accident may have caused the kitchen in a Pocomoke home to go up in flames.

Reports say on Saturday at about 2:45 PM, seven different fire departments responded to the 7000 block of Dividing Creek Road to a reported house fire. Once firefighters arrived it took about 30 minuets to extinguish what was left of the kitchen. Smoke detectors were reportedly present in the home but did not activate during the fire. The flames were discovered by a occupant of the one story home.

The estimated cost of lost is about $70,000.
