Watson to appeal conviction in DE in supreme court Wednesday

A Delaware man, sentenced to 106 years in prison for shooting into a police officer’s home, is looking to overturn his conviction.
A spokesman for the Delaware Department of Justice tells says David Watson is challenging his conviction in Supreme Court tomorrow. Watson was sentenced back in 2013 for firing rounds at a Dewey Beach Police Sergreant’s home in December of 2012.
Watson’s lawyer reportedly argues that a Delaware Superior Court judge should not have allowed testimony about Watson’s charges for similar shootings in Maryland.
Back in Delaware, Watson was found incompetent to stand trial in Maryland and was ordered to be committed to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. His review hearing is set for June.
Watson’s co-defendant, Orrin Joudrey, was sentenced last month to eighteen years in prison after he completes his current eleven-year sentence in Delaware.
