center. after a burst pipe — overnight in the box office — caused significant damages. county executive bob culver says it was a sprinkler pipe in the ceiling — that spewed water for a number of hours before it was detected. up to four inches of water — flooded the front lobby and several offices. the box office was completely ruined. the civic center was supposed to be used as a shelter last night — if the county had lost electricity in the storm. that didn’t happen — but culver says bennett high school was ready as a backup. inspectors have not yet pin-pointed a precise cause of the leak — but it appears the cold weather is likely a major factor. the goal is to fix the pipes tomorrow — and have everything up and running again — in time for the better living expo and fine arts show this weekend. on the topic of dangerously cold temperatures — it does not appear
