Milford Is Crowned The Henlopen South Champions

A huge showdown in Milford as the Milford Bucs hosted the Delmar Wildcats looking to win the Henlopen South. Previous match ups between the two teams came in a loss to the Wildcats at home despite having a ten point lead.

Tonight’s game in Milford was quite similar – Delmar came out on fire in the first quarter and Larry Ennis told his team to not let up. His team didn’t let up, but their shots were not falling as they normally would. The Bucs athleticism was enough to take back the momentum of the game as Milford took the lead heading into halftime by four points.

The game remained close – both teams getting fired up by calls from the refs, but the players did a great job keeping their composure and played through the  frustrations.

It was the Milford Bucs that came out on top, 52-50, and because of this win, they also won the Henlopen South championship and earned an automatic bid the the state basketball tournament.

Tonight marks the first time in 26 years that a Milford boys basketball team has won the Henlopen South!
