One arrested after Sunday afternoon stabbing in Salisbury

A Salisbury man is behind bars, after he reportedly stabbed someone during an argument over the weekend.

Salisbury Police say on Sunday afternoon, around 1:30 PM, 21-year-old Douglas Schoolfield, and a 32-year-old man were inside a house on Elizabeth Street, when they started fighting. According to the report, the fight turned physical, with Schoofield grabbing a knife from the kitchen, and stabbing the 32-year-old in the thigh.

Police say Schoolfield had fled before Officers arrived, but was found a short time later, and arrested. He was charged with assault 1st and 2nd degree, reckless endangerment, wear and carry a deadly weapon. The victim was rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was later released.

Schoolfield is now being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center.
