Man crossing I-95 on foot struck, killed overnight in Newark

State troopers are investigating a fatal crash that killed a pedestrian in Newark Sunday morning.
Police say around 1:26 a.m,. a Middletown man later identified as 24-year-old Sean Stainback was traveling southbound on I-95 approaching the exit for Churchmans Crossing. That’s when police say a Wilmington man crossing the southbound lane was struck by the car.
The pedestrian, 22-year-old Thomas Killen, was apparently thrown onto the hood of the vehicle and then the concrete traffic barrier on the right shoulder of the 1-95.
Authorities say Killen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Stainback and his three passengers were reportedly not injured from the crash.
The case remains under investigation.
