March: Friday the 13th

The 13th of March happens to fall on a Friday. Here are some weather events that occurred on March 13th.

In 1977, Baltimore, MD experienced an inch of rain during 8 minutes. That’s alot of rain fall for a minute.

In 1989, There was unseasonably warm temperatures across the southwestern United States. Also the North Lights was actually visible for the southern states. This was a once in a life time event.

In 1990, there were extreme thunderstorms and squall lines that produced a tornado outbreak.  These tornadoes stretched from Texas up to Wisconsin. 26 of these tornadoes were violent. Kansas alone experienced 48.

The next time the 13th will fall on a Friday in March will be in the years 2020, 2026, 2037, and 2043.
