Local pharmacies express concern about new policy

Some local pharmacies may be hit hard financially once a new policy from United Health Care kicks in.

Starting April 1st, United Health Care clients can apparently only receive medication from three select chain pharmacies. These include Walmart, CVS and Giant.

Craig Schury is the owner of Pemberton Pharmacy & Gifts and says he’s more concerned about his clients, particularly those who need medications delivered — a service his pharmacy does offer.

“For many of them, they’re people who are disabled. People who can’t get to the store or pharmacy very easily, because they don’t have cars or have disabilities.” Says Schury.
