didn’t stop some of our lacrosse teams from playing. ya that’s right. i was over at cape, and it was even snowing over there for a little while, i mean it was freezing. but these guys are tougher than i am, and they played on.. the worcester prep boys lacrosse team returned to action this afternoon when they took on bullis. mallards fell behind early in this one, but trying to fight back in the second quarter here after sam cantello with the beautiful shot, puts it home. worcester looking for more, but this time, staton whaley rips a shot from the left side, but a great save by bullis’s keeper turns it away. . mallards down 10-3 at the half, but cutting into that deficit here after sam deeley splits two defenders, and fires it in while falling down. another look at this one.. awesome concentration to make it happen. but the bulls would just keep coming in this one. wade walter able to come up with the save here, but just not enough of those on the afternoon. worcester prep drops this one, 17-5. and cape’s girls lacrosse team hosted glenelg county this afternoon. first half and the vikings grabbed the quick lead after alexa woodruff takes that one in all the way by herself. few minutes later, the vikings add another one here from elizabeth frederick to grab a 7-3 lead at the break. second half, and cape still pushing. break away and check out korinne le-maire’s shot.. it goes off the far post, but bounces right to sarah tappan who will scoop it up and send it home! then the vikings would put this thing away. jordan brown finds woodruf in the crease for the final of her 5 goals on the day. cape takes this one, 13-5 the final “maryland teams are normally a lot more physical and aggressive than the delaware teams, that’s just how it is. so that when we play them, it gives us a different kind of toughness so that when we come against the delaware teams, it’s just a lot easier, and it just makes us better prepared for the entire season.” and s-u’s women’s lacrosse team was in action today, taking on mary washington. first half, and the sea gulls stretch their lead to 3-0 here after kate haker finds megan wallenhorst who fires that one home. already up 7 here in the first half and looking for more when kara o’rourke finds wallenhorst, and she’ll put that one home as well. she finished with a career high 6 goals in this one. then s-u puts it away. o’rouke this time finds kristen murphy, as s-u rolls, 16-3 the final and of course the elite 8 is just getting underway with wisconsin taking on arizona, followed by kentucky taking on notre dame tonight. so lets take a look at our 47abc sports bracket challenge. sitting in first place now is e-hamma with 720 points. our sports team.. falling apart. tray’s now in a tie for 15 with 650 points. i’m not far behind, sitting at 640 which ties me for 18th and angela comes in at tied for 24th with 620 points. and we are now officially less than 12 hours away from me and tray taking off to florida. we are going to be covering spring training for about a week.. getting interviews, highlights of the nats, phillies and o’s. look forward to those all next week, it’s going to be a great trip. that’s it for sports. keep it right here — you’re watching 47 abc – delmarva’s trust source for news. welcome back. not too
