Ocean City P.R.E.S.S. Committee to hold housing compliance meeting

Ocean City officials want to make sure everyone involved in the rental process is on the same page before the town swells with tourists this summer.

Apparently last season, many people did not play by the rules, or maybe they just didn’t know them.

Officials are calling for a meeting as a stern refresher-course on those rules. The main concerns are noise violations and overcrowding.  In 2014, police received 593 noise complaints.

Fire officials tell 47 ABC more renters than usual were piling into properties violating building codes. The meeting is set for May 5th.

The Property Review and Enforcement Strategies Committee is running the meeting, and they’re inviting landlords, property, owners renters, and the public to attend.
