Former Eastern Shore Association of Municipalities treasurer officially charged

Mabel Mumford-Pautz, 82

The former treasurer of the Eastern Shore Association of Municipalities is officially charged with felony theft.

The charge was filed Wednesday against Mabel Mumford-Pautz, 82 in Kent County Maryland Circuit Court.

According to state prosecutors, the venue was also changed, the case will now be heard in Cecil County Circuit Court.

The charges stem from Mumford-Pautz allegedly writing numerous checks to herself from the E-SAM bank account, totaling around $45,000.

It appears it may be some time before this case goes to court. If convicted, Mumford-Pautz could spend up to 15 years in prison and pay up to $15,000 in fines.
