Maryland Officer shot, active shooter loose

Anne Arundel County Police are investigating an active shooter situation in the Arnold area Friday morning. Officials say an officer has been shot and critically wounded.
It started around 2AM during a routine patrol when an officer received a complaint about a suspicious person in the area of a 7-Eleven along College Parkway. That’s when an officer made contact with a male suspect. Both reportedly ran away from the 7-Eleven and witnesses reported hearing gunshots. Other responding officers found the officer suffering around a gunshot wound.
Lieutenant T.J. Smith spoke to 47 ABC saying, “He’s in critical condition right now at Shock Trauma. So we’re asking people for their thoughts and prayers as he continues to fight through, and pull through this injury.”
He is described as a dark-skinned male, believed to be in his 20s, anywhere from 5’6″ to 6′ tall, last seen wearing dark pants and a black hoodie. The suspect is believed to be armed and dangerous, if you have any information, do not approach the suspect, call Police.
