The Lady Hawks Rally For The Win

The Lady Hawks softball team played host to the Hampton Pirates this weekend and looked to add their second straight win of the season on Sunday.

This was a game that was heavily dominated by pitching through the first couple of innings – however, Jessica Reimann opened things up with a two-run shot to left field to give the Pirates a 2-0 edge over the Lady Hawks.

UMES would trail early on in the game, but their bats would not stay silent for long – Morgan King helped keep Hampton from scoring runs, but her RBI single in the bottom of the seventh led UMES to a 4-3 victory over Hampton.

UMES takes this series over Hampton for the first time since 2009.
