Man accused of selling alcohol from Georgetown home

A Georgetown man is facing charges, after authorities say they found him selling alcohol from his home, without a license.

The Delaware Division of Alcohol & Tobacco Enforcement says they started investigating after getting a tip about someone selling alcohol from a S. Railroad Avenue home in Georgetown. During that investigation, DATE agents were reportedly able to buy multiple alcoholic beverages from the home.

According to the report, on Friday, DATE agents searched the home, and seized various brands of beer and other alcoholic beverages, along with $1,460 in cash. The owner of the home, 66-year-old Johnny Gibbs, of Georgetown, was arrested, and found to be in possession of an EBT (food stamp) card that did not belong to him.

Gibbs was charged with sell alcohol without a license, illegal storage of alcohol with intent to sell, and unauthorized possession of EBT card, and released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.
