Milford woman apparently attempts to evade officers by jumping from second floor window

A wanted Milford woman is behind bars, after she apparently jumped out of a second story window to avoid capture by law enforcement.
Milford Police say on Tuesday, Officers responded to the Silver Lake Apartment Complex for reports of a wanted person being out in front of the buildings. Once on scene, Officers say they tried to talk to 32-year-old Rykia Weston, who then fled into a second floor apartment of the building.
Police say Weston then jumped out one of the apartment’s back windows, trying to run from Officers. Authorities were apparently able to catch up with Weston, who continued to struggle against the Officers. According to the report, Weston spit on one of the Officers, who was then able to take her into custody.
She was then charged with offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, criminal mischief under $1,000, and disorderly conduct, along with the active warrant stemming from an October 2014 incident.
Police say during that incident, Weston got into an argument with a 28-year-old woman inside of a liquor store, before hitting the woman, sparking a fight. Weston apparently fled from the store before Police arrived, and has been wanted since.
She is now behind bars at Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $12,000 bond.
