Wildcats Earn Second-Straight Victory, Down Warriors

The Delmar High School baseball team hosted Mardela Friday afternoon for an out-of-state matchup, earning the home victory with a 7-2 decision. The Wildcats improve to 4-6 for the season, while the Warriors slip to 2-12.
Mardela jumped out early in this one, seeing a throwing error to first base bring home the first run of the game, but Delmar would answer in the next inning to draw the score even and never look back.
The runs kept coming for Delmar for the remainder of the game, working it to a five-run advantage and taking a 7-2 win.
James Adkins took over for the Wildcats on the mound in the second inning, after starting the game at third base. It was his first appearance on the mound this season, working through six innings and only giving up one run.
Delmar now readies for Caesar Rodney on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m., while Mardela heads back to Maryland for a matchup against Parkside on Monday at 4 p.m.
