UPDATE: Worshipers back in church after vandalism

Worshipers were back inside Wesley United Methodist Church in Seaford Sunday morning after the building was vandalized Friday night.

Beth Elzey, the pastor of the church, says ten windows and three stained glasses were smashed. A door and a back entrance to the church were also shattered.

We’re told the damage should all be covered by insurance. The congregation says they’re working to move past this and they’re praying for the person who did this.

Pastor Elzey continues, “That person has so much pain in their heart. Breaking a few windows is not going to relieve that pain. There’s still someone out there that’s still hurting. We’re asking for prayers for that person especially.”

The pastor tells 47 ABC the church is accepting donations from the community if anyone would like to assist with the repairs. Administration at the Wesley United Methodist Church can be reached at 302-629-3029.
