SU students partake in Entrepreneurship Week

Entrepreneurship Week continued today at Salisbury University with 32 student-led teams vying for a leg-up in the business world.
The competition started this morning with the poster competition. 15 teams advanced to the second round known as the Gull Cage, which sent four teams to the annual Bernstein Achievement award. There, students pitched their ideas to a panel of judges one last time.
Competition director Bill Burke says they saw a record number of student athletes participate in the competition.
“Our student athletes are a big part of what Salisbury University is about, so it’s a great opportunity to see our star athletes apply that dedication and commitment to their business.” Says Burke.
This year’s top prize of $10,000 cash went to a company named 5 Pop. Second place was awarded to Connect-U, worth $10,000 in cash and services. Delmarva Sports Services and Thor Electric Longboards received Honorable Mentions. Each honorable mention team won $5,000 in cash and services.
