Man in critical condition after falling from OC balcony

A West Virginia man is reportedly in critical condition, after he apparently fell from a third-story balcony in Ocean City on Thursday.

Ocean City Police say on Thursday, around 6:40 PM, Officers responded to 25th Street at Baltimore Avenue, to assist Ocean City EMS. Once on scene, Police say they learned that 23-year-old Patrick Thomas had fallen from a third-story balcony.

Thomas was air-lifted to Peninsula Regional Medical Center by Maryland State Police, before later being flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He is apparently currently in critical condition.

According to the report, Thomas had been reaching over the raining to a balcony below, before falling about 21 feet to the ground. Police say they believe alcohol to be a factor in the incident.
