UPDATE: Escaped prisoner in Queen Anne’s Co. back in custody

Authorities in Centreville say they have taken an escaped prisoner back into custody.

According to officials with the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office,  Alex Christopher Finnerty, 20, escaped as he was being returned to the Detention Center.

Finnerty is reportedly facing burglary and theft charges.

Police say schools in the immediate area were locked down during the manhunt.
