12 states reporting dog flu cases

Twelve states have reported cases of dog flu.
More than 1,000 cases were discovered in Chicago in April and is now spreading through the midwest, northeast and into the south.
A few symptoms include nasal discharge, cough, fever and loss of appetite. As a precaution, dog owners in those states are advised to avoid dog parks and other places where pets gather.
Cases have been reported in Illinois, Alabama, California, Texas, Massachusetts, New York, Wisconsin, Michigan, New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana and Georgia.
The CDC says the virus only affects animals, not humans.
