Scaletta trial moved to circuit court

The former director of the Veterans Support Centers of America PAWS program will have a new court date to face gun charges.

Jason Scaletta faces one charge of illegal possession of ammo and possession of a shot gun or rifle. According to charging documents, Scaletta has past felony convictions for theft and obtaining money under false pretenses, as well as passing bad checks.

He is also reportedly under investigation for violating the Stolen Valor Act for allegedly claiming to have won military decorations.

For the gun charges, Scaletta was supposed to appear in the Wicomico County District Court Tuesday. However, his charges were filed in the Wicomico County Circuit Court instead. We’re told a new trial date has not yet been set, but that it should be within the next thirty to forty days.
