UPDATE: Police identify victim in fatal Georgetown crash

Delaware State Police say one woman is dead following a two vehicle crash in Georgetown.

Police say around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Millsboro man Austin Buckingham, 24, was traveling northbound on Savannah Road approaching Wilson Road.  We’re told Gary Levis, 50, was traveling eastbound on Wilson Road when Buckingham failed to stop at the posted stop sign and struck the passenger side of Levis’ car. Due to the impact, police say both vehicles rotated and eventually overturned on the left side before coming to a stop.

The woman in Levis’ car, 48-year-old Margaret Dukes of Clayton, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Buckingham was transported to Beebe Healthcare, where he was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

Levis was also transported to Beebe Healthcare but then later airlifted by LifeNet to Christiana Medical Center, where he is currently admitted in critical condition.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit with Delaware State Police is continuing their investigation into this incident.

No charges have been filed at this time.
