Underage Drinking in OC

Senior week is now upon us, which means tons of underage drinkers will be taking the beaches of Ocean City.

Ocean City Police tell 47 ABC that they’ve already had an increase in calls involving fake ID’s.

Restaurants say that senior weekers are pretty easy to point out and that helps in cracking down on underage drinking.

“I would say that they try and find other ways of getting alcohol. They usually don’t go to bars I don’t think because you can kind of pick them out of crowd so you’re like oh that’s a senior weeker. You know they look younger usually you can just tell by the way they’re dressed and everything,” said Shelby Gardiner, a server at Guido’s Burritos on the boardwalk.

Ocean City police say every year during June the number of calls involving fake ID’s and underage drinking increase but that the police have it under control.
