One in custody after five hour stand off in Dover

A Dover man is in custody, after a reportedly five hour long stand off with Police on Wednesday.
Delaware State Police say on Wednesday, around 7:30 PM, Troopers responded to a home on John Clark Road, to help the Division of Family Services with the emergency custody of a juvenile. Troopers say they tried to get in touch with the people inside the home, at which time a 28-year-old woman walked out of the house with her 18-month-old daughter. The two reportedly had non-life threatening injures to their upper bodies, and were rushed to the hospital.
The Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team and Conflict Management Team then responded to the scene, and got in touch with the man who had apparently barricaded himself inside of the house. Police say it took around five hours, but 29-year-old Joshua Pulliam eventually surrendered.
He was then taken into custody by DSP, and charged with assault 2nd and 3rd degree, strangulation, two counts of unlawful imprisonment, reckless endangerment 2nd degree, terroristic threatening, endangering the welfare of a child, and breech of release. He was additionally charged with another count of assault 3rd degree, two more counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and two more counts of breech of release, in connection to an April 5th incident. DSP say the Dover Police Department also has charges pending for Pulliam. Bond information was not immediately available.
Troopers say during the stand off they evacuated several homes in the area, and closed John Clark Road between Daniel Rodney Drive and Richard Bassett Road for the duration of the incident.
