Magnolia woman succumbs to injuries sustained in scooter crash

A Magnolia woman has died, following a scooter crash that happened earlier in June.

Delaware State Police say on Sunday, June 7 around 4:20 PM, 48-year-old Deborah Baker was driving a 2015 Honda Forza scooter on Firetower Road, coming up to West Evens Road. According to the report, Baker lost control of the scooter while making the left turn on West Evens Road, and slid into a ditch.

Police say Baker, who was wearing an approved DOT helmet, was air lifted to Christiana Medical Center in Stanton, where she was admitted. Baker later died from her injuries on Wednesday.

The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit says they are continuing their investigation into this incident.
