Salisbury’s Camden Neighborhood forms Task Force against new Beer and Wine store

A neighborhood in one local city, is banding together to keep an apparently unwanted business, out.

The Camden Neighborhood of Salisbury, says they have created a Task Force in hopes of keeping a beer and wine store from moving into the former Chesapeake Treasure’s building on Riverside Drive. On Tuesday, the Wicomico County Board of License Commissioners is hosting their regular meeting, at which they are expected to hold a hearing on the matter.

The Task Force says they plan on attending, to alert the Board to their issue with Riverside Beer and Wine, and present a petition with a reported hundreds of signatures against the business. The Task Force explains that with the recent addition of the Camden Community Garden and reduced crime activity in the area, they don’t want another alcohol store present within their community.

The meeting is in room 301 of the Wicomico County Government Office Building on North Division Street at 6:00 PM on Tuesday. 47 ABC’s Julian Sadur will be at the meeting, and will have all the details tonight at 10 PM on the CW and 11 PM on 47ABC.
