State Police contract with Frankford to patrol streets

Frankford is going through several changes as the town works to find ways to function since losing Mountaire's business.
One of the biggest struggles has been trying to get a police department in place the town can afford.
Frankford and the neighboring town ,Dagsboro, considered joining police departments but that idea fell by the wayside.
Marty Presley tells 47 ABC Frankford is now working with state officials to keep the town safe.
"They are off-duty state police officers and when they come in they are exclusively working for the town in our town limits so they're initially contracted with us for three-hour shifts. So they will come in three to four days a week for three hour shifts exclusively patrolling Frankford for us."
The deal is expected to cost Frankford just over $53,000 dollars each year.
Just this summer the town's only police officer and chief resigned.
