Local society honors member’s legacy with memorial photo contest

OCEAN CITY, MD. The Ocean City Museum Society is honoring the memory of one member and photographer with a photo contest.

The First Annual Louis Parsons III Memorial Photo Contest is open to any photographer 18 years or older.

Subject categories include the Ocean City boardwalk,  beach, and the Ocean City/Assateague Bay sunsets. These were all Parsons favorites to capture.

The winner of each category will win a prize of $250, with the grand prize winner awarded an additional $750.

We’re told, Parsons served on the society for many years and this was a good way to honor him by engaging others in something he truly loved. “Lou would’ve been so happy to see this type of contest carry through and that the museum society thought of this,” said Ocean City Museum Society Member Christine Okerblom.

“We intended to carry it on for many years to come.”

The entry fee is $15 dollars per contestant.

Submissions are being accepted now through October 1st. If you would like to find out more about the contest visit www.ocmuseum.org
