Salisbury man arrested on assault, gun charges involving juveniles
SALISBURY, Md. – A Salisbury man is behind bars after police say he threatened a pair of juveniles with a gun late last month.
We’re told shortly after 7 p.m. on July 30th, troopers with the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack responded to the 300 block of Brewington Drive in Salisbury for a reported first degree assault with a firearm. Preliminary investigation revealed that two juveniles reportedly found money while traveling north on Emerson Road. A short time later, the victims returned to the location when a man, identified as 33-year-old Cameron Calvert, approached them while armed with a handgun. Calvert then reportedly demanded the suspects return the money to him.
The victims told police that Calvert also robbed them of a cell phone, money, and additional items before driving away.
Further investigation led police to identify Calvert as the suspect, and responded to his residence on Tuesday. He was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony, illegal possession of a handgun, illegal possession of a handgun in a vehicle, and reckless endangerment.
Calvert is currently being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center without bond.
