Wilmington man charged with string of burglaries in Dover

A Wilmington man has been charged, after Police in Dover say they linked him to a string of commercial burglaries in their area.
Dover Police say on Monday, Officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Country Farm Food Store on South Little Creek Road. Once on scene, Officers say they found 26-year-old Larry Wilmer, and an unknown man, attempting to pry open the back door of the store. Police say the two men then fled, but Officers were able to take Wilmer into custody, just a short distance away.
Police say they connected Wilmer to five burglaries or burglary attempts in the area, which include East Side Package Store on May 16, and El Pipil Restaurant on July 1, along with Betsy Ross, AC Moore, and the Country Farm Food Store, all in the early morning hours of Monday.
Wilmer was charged with wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, 3 counts of burglary 3rd degree, 2 counts of attempted burglary 3rd degree, possession of burglary tools, 2 counts of theft under $1,500, resisting arrest, and 5 counts of criminal mischief. He is currently behind bars on bond.
