Perdue returns from 10-day layoff with win

The Perdue Chicks returned to action after a 10-day break, defeating the Georgetown Titans 4-1 at Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex Tuesday afternoon in Salisbury.
Dan Fein went seven innings, striking out 10 batters and allowing just one run. The Titans struck first in the game, with Kam Stewart scoring on a fielder’s choice. Garrett Coverdale ran a smooth course for the Titans in the early stages of the game. He ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth, when Jesse Long stole third, and the catcher’s throw went into left field, allowing Long to tie the game up at one. Perdue’s Brian Hudson would score a couple plays later on a wild pitch, as the Chicks would pull away taking the 4-1 win.
Perdue is back in action on Thursday, taking on the Thunder, while Georgetown host Tri-County on Sunday.
