UPDATE: Suspect still sought in Salisbury bank robbery

Police in Salisbury have released new details about Wednesday’s robbery at the Hebron Savings Bank, but say they are still searching for the suspect.

Salisbury Police say at around 10:20 AM, Officers responded to the bank on Riverside Drive, for reports of an armed robbery. Employees reportedly told Officers that an un-masked suspect had walked into the bank, and demanded money.

Police say during their investigation, they found that the suspect had a small blue lunchbox, with wires coming from it in one hand, and a black semi-automatic handgun in the other. The suspect reportedly told employees that he had a bomb, and demanded they empty the cash drawers, or he would blow up the building. Police say the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash, before fleeing on foot.

No injuries were reported during the incident. A K-9 unit with the Salisbury Police Department reportedly attempted to track the suspect, but didn’t find him. Salisbury Police says they were assisted by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the investigation.

Police say they are asking for help from the public in identifying the suspect. Police describe the suspect as a black male, standing 5′ 8″ tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with a medium build, aged between 30 and 40-years-old. The suspect was reportedly last seen with dreadlocks, wearing dark baggy clothing, and a blue hat, carrying a clipboard with papers.
