Delaware inmate dies in custody, DSP investigating

The death of an inmate in Smyrna, is under investigation by State Police. The Delaware Department of Correction says on Friday morning, 32-year-old Ronnie Farrow, was found unresponsive in his bed, by his cellmate.

According to the report, DOC staff responded immediately, and called 911. Once on scene, first responders reportedly did CPR, but apparently couldn’t revive Farrow. Officials say Farrow was pronounced dead, just before 4:20 AM. His body has reportedly been turned over to the State Division of Forensic Science, as is standard procedure with the DOC.

Officials say the Delaware State Police responded to the scene, and is investigating Farrow’s death. Foul play is reportedly not suspected.

DOC says Farrow, a registered sex offender, arrived at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on June 16, to serve a 32-day sentence for civil contempt, along with a violation of probation for a 2014 conviction of receiving stolen property.
