Family trying to cope after sons death

A young life, taken too soon. It was one month ago Friday that four year old Logan Matthew White, a little boy from Delmar passed away after being found unconscious in his grandmother’s pool.

The family was having a cookout when they noticed that Logan had disappeared. After searching, Logan’s two older sisters Alyssa and Hailey made the tragic discovery. The family called 911 and when minutes passed with no ambulance, they called again, understandably panicked. Logan was eventually taken to PRMC where he later died.

47 ABC spoke with Logan’s mother Jacqueline White, and she says the family is taking their loss day by day.

White tells 47 ABC, “Happy, happy little boy, full of life. He was just perfect. Just pretty much wake up every day, schools out so I do have the other two girls right now so that’s a good thing.”

Distractions are what is getting their family through this extremely difficult time. But they always stop and remember what a loving little boy Logan was.

White tells 47 ABC, “Would you say that he was full of life? Oh yes, he was. He loved being outdoors, he just loved everything. Every day was a holiday to him. You’d walk in the door and he’d say did you buy me something?”

Playful by nature, Logan loved Transformers, Thomas the tank engine, and just about anything with wheels. He was an active kid, with an appetite for life.
White tells 47 ABC, “His favorite food was a ketchup and cheese sandwich, he loved riding his bike, playing in the sandbox, video games with his sisters.”

After his death, the family made the decision to donate Logan’s organs. A decision that was never questioned.

White tells 47 ABC, “I had no doubts I don’t want nobody to feel this pain if it can be avoided. I don’t want no parent having to go through what i am. If i can help save someone else from our heartache.”

Just two days ago a go fund me page was set up by Jacqueline’s aunt Penny Adams to help with any additional funding the family may need. They have a goal of $2,000 and at the moment they currently sit at $175. To donate, visit: http://www.gofundme.com/loganwhite
