Two arrested with handgun in stolen car during Dover traffic stop

Two men were arrested over the weekend, after a traffic stop reportedly revealed that the vehicle they were in had been reported stolen.
Dover Police say Officers pulled over a 2003 Mazda Protégé on South Bay Road at Transportation Circle, for a traffic stop for fictitious tags. During the stop, the Officer reportedly ran the vehicle identification number of the car, and found that it had been reported stolen from Milford.
Police say they then arrested the driver, 29-year-old Kevin Woods, of Seaford, and passenger, 22-year-old Dontrelle Shields, of Milford. During a searching of the car, Police say they found a .380 handgun underneath of the passenger seat where Shields was sitting.
Woods was charged with receiving stolen property, and held at James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $1,000 bond.
Shields was charged with possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of ammo by person prohibited, along with carry concealed deadly weapon, and held on a $11,000 bond at JTVCC.
