DOJ investigates Pocomoke City

Monday Department of Justice (DOJ) officials were in Pocomoke City  for a rescheduled visit that was supposed to happen in July.

According to the interim Pocomoke City Police Chief  Lt. Earl Starner of the Maryland State Police, DOJ officials were sent in relation to a federal grant that was approved back in 2011.    

The 212,000 dollar Cops For Hire grant Starner says, was supposed to be used for hiring of a new police officer. 

DOJ officials did not comment on the matter because the investigation in ongoing DOJ.
