Salisbury woman arrested for car theft

A Salisbury teen is facing charges, after Police say they caught her driving a stolen car.
The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on Friday, a Deputy found 18-year-old Britani Elburn behind the wheel of a stolen 1995 Mercedes sedan on Craft Street in Salisbury. The car had apparently been reported as stolen from Mary Jane Drive on July 31, and was thought to have been taken by Elburn, without permission.
According to the report, during the stop, the Deputy figured out that the license plate on the Mercedes, was supposed to be on a utility trailer, which had also been reported as stolen. Elburns driver’s license had also apparently been suspended in the State of Maryland.
Elburn was arrested, and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft of a registration plate, and driving while suspended. After an initial appearance, she was ordered to be held at the Wicomico County Detention Center on a $35,000 bond.
