Shore Gives More campaign raises over $160,000

Well the numbers are finally in from the 24 hour online giving event 'Shore Gives More' and they are nearly double what was donated last year. 

$164,000 was raised Tuesday, last year they raised $88,000, so this is a huge increase. 

But the good news doesn't stop there, the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, who hosts the event, says not only did they nearly double in total money but they also had double the number of donors.

Many of which were from the Eastern Shore, definitely a testament that the shore gives more. 

"They are really excited to see how much their local community cares about them and they know that with these funds they will be able to go out and create a larger impact on our local community," says Victoria Kent, of the Community Foundation. 

 CFES say they're hoping to raise even more money next year, but tell us they can't thank the community enough for all their support.
